Try to do these steps:

4) After rebooting the system for the last time adjust the display settings and run some 3d application to test the drivers.

Why do you install the (CD) drivers, then reboot and install more drivers
This will just slow your system down :Oo:
Just uninstall all drivers marked Nvidia/display drivers from Add/Remove programs.
ReBoot (everything will be super large, but do not adjust)
Install the latest drivers for your card (from somewhere like
http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.ph...ddb39c4c11f1021
ReBoot
Adjust resolution settings etc...
ReBoot
