Just thought Id share how much Im lovin playing through Doom3 again! But only becuase I've tweaked it a bit!
I understood why a lot of people were disappointed with Doom3, and I was to some extent too. But recently I bought a new cooler for my 9800 Pro and OC'ed it a bit, switched off mouse smoothing, applied the v1.3 patch which added 5.1 surround and EAX4 support and installed the mod which adds Trent Reznor's original sounds for the game.....all i can say is the difference is astonishing!
All this combined has made D3 so much smoother and more responsive. With the sound changes, the game actually scares me now, and I dont mind being indoors 99% of the time, because the atmosphere in different sections is so much richer! The guns sound meatier and the enemies sound...well more like the original Dooms (ie much better!)
Im sure most of you already play it this way, but if you havent tried this, it might renew your faith in the D3 engine, and you will LOVE IT! (Even the D3 haters, i guarantee it!)
