I have played it , i must say it`s very good. They don`t just throw a body at you and expect ot be scared , they make it in style . After playing most of the horror titles like nosferatu,undying,doom, etc.. you kind of expect to get scared so it doesn`t have the same effect , but the scene with ramona`s mother almost made me jump out of my chair. Also when you see the "monster perspective" you don`t actually expect the monster to be there hideing in the shadows... Very scary ,and has the effect it should, it has almost no "dud" scares.
Haven`t finished yet, and the first levels, allthough you just walk around you never get bored. God knows what lies ahead. I would say that it`s a combination of nosferatu and the nightmares in max payne. Based on Lovecraft`s real writings, you actually get interested in the story, wich so far isn`t too revealing or blurry. The attention of details makes all the diference. I stared 2 minutes at a cockroach coming in and out of a woman`s mouth, and if the graphics would have been more real i would have puked.
You have to read a lot, wich is not something i personally like :P but it`s an interesting read that reveals the plot.
The graphics are ok, nothing fancy, nothing slapped-on. Sounds are spooky of course, the wind that sounds like voices is here , but very well recorded, almost like the developers wanted you to decide if they really are voices or it`s just the wind... brilliant...
So if you want a good scare, but not like this: "close your eyes , now open them... Look, a monster just spawned , be scared NOW !" you should try it.
