Plus batteries last about 2 days in the wireless pad, unless you get the play and charge kit which turns it into a wired pad part of the time anyway! :P
The HDD is recommended though for demos, trailers, music and any games that use it in the future, and the core pack is also missing the HD component cable and remote afaik. I had to buy a separate vga cable anyway and I never use the remote.
