Not a big reader myself, but my friend who knows what I'm usually into recommended I read any book by Haruki Murakami. So I've just started reading one called The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and I love it. Very imaginitive and surreal. Even his wesite is cool. :P
Well I'm probably the slowest reader on the planet when it comes to fiction, only cos I tend to drift off mid sentence trying to imagine the world the author is creating. Then I realise that I've missed half the story while I was in some dream world, and I have to go back and read it again! Can't seem to read and imagine at the same time!
That's why I'm more into games, but I can't seem to find the right games these days either! But yes I recommend Haruki Murakami for some Japanese, surreal, but very original work.
