Guess I will have to ask the noob question: what's the difference between mod and admin?
And why would it be an honour to become an admin? Is that like paid employment?

Admins handle different things. Not all of us are paid, some of us are, the ones that get a check every once in a while are admins like Nxs, he is the marketing manager for GH and handles all the contest (which we are very glad for). Admins like GM and I just do it for the love of community.
Some differences are: Admins can use the power of banning if they must, they can also edit the board settings (although...we usually get permission so we dont screw anything up). Admins are responsible for keeping the community going, and handling the problems and complaints of the forumites, whereas mods are responsible for taking care of the forums, as they have no real privelages to help the forumites with their accounts or edit the board settings.
Hope that clears it up for you.
