NXS, I was agreeing with your statement, but I also wanted to add that if blu-ray doesn't win the format war, it will still be the standard media for ps3 games. Now, the whole price point of the ps3 revolves around the blu-ray, so if it does fail then everybody who bought it for the player will be boned, but people who bought it for the games will be content.
