also Jan, are you talking about the fact you actually played BF2142 yet, or just its predecessors?

I was talking about the trailers, it looks so unoriginal. I hate the strategy of EA. They go for the quick and easy money. They prefer short peaks of high sales instead of a stable long-term sale. That is fine but that also means that you have to have many peaks per year if you want your revenue on a constant level. And since resources are limited, it is more efficient to build on an existing base instead of being original. But that results in a constant diarrhea of sequels and mods-to-be-sold-as-separate-games. The best example are the sports games. I bought Fifa 98 almost 10 years ago. If you download the Fifa 2007 demo, what has changed? Nothing, just nothing. Same thing with need for speed. Most wanted was kinda fun, but have you seen the trailers of NFS carbon? My god, how boring must that game be! It's not even a mod, because nothing has changed.
But apparently, this market strategy is very succesful, otherwise they wouldn't do it. So the only way to have that strategy changed, is not to buy sequels anymore.
