Big update. I spent quite a few hours last night, so let's see



Dropping by the chocobo farm. In order to get a chocobo you need a specific materia, chocobo lure, and go to certain spots outside where there are huge chocobo tracks. Eventually a chocobo joins a battle, where you have to feed it some yummy treats.





With a chocobo you can cross a desert where this big snake monster hangs out.





Eventually we run into these guys, who also seem to be after Sephiroth.











We make it to the town, but there's not much to do there.





So I went looking for something else to do, and found this mountain that was being invaded by Shinra soldiers. Here you play a minigame where you position a bunch of different soldiers, and then send them off in a turn-based battle of sorts.


Headed back to the dirty town and eventually figured out where I was supposed to go. A dolphin helps Cloud get up to a platform.
