Moved to appropriate forum, as I got a feeling that this might turn into a heated debate
Let me add to it: I'm pretty sure the current American administration WANTED those pictures to be shown on all national TV stations. For all the reasons mentioned above by kaotik. If not, they would indeed release a media advisory WARNING TV networks not to show them. But since those aren't American citizens (I'm personally used to everyone non-American being treated by US govrnment as "second class" human being), and (what's more important) this won't have any bad effect on the public opinion in USA, they allowed them to continue showing all that. Hypocrisy as usual in regards to 'humane treatment', but I think we should all just get used to it. Just a question for all the Americans on our boards - how can you guys let YOUR government do that? I'm pretty sure that if it'd happen in Canada all the human rights activist watchgroups would have a party - but what about USA?
