It IS the same gun. I had an M-4 carbine in the Army, 16inch barrell,collapsable butt stock, rail mount, PEQ2 Laser sight, and an AimPoint 2X scope. LOL, the M-16 looks like a damned long rifle to me now (hard stock and longer barrell). The patent for the M-16 expired along time ago so anyone can make a cheap knock off. Thats were the Bushmaster steps in... ;)
