Depending on the amount of cash you have, I'd buy either an Radeon 9800 Pro, or an XT.
The standard 9800 pro's have become really cheap, and they'll keep you satisfied for atleast a year, just as the 9700 is still doing!

The PS3.0 everyone is talking about isn't implemented in any game right now, and won't be for the next two years!
Games like Doom3 and HL2, will have PS3.0, but they are only used for performance gain, not visual quality. Even FarCry, which is getting a PS3.0 update, won't look any better then it looks now...

So why should you pay ~500 $/€ for a card you can't fully use anyway?
