"HomeLAN - How do you feel about perhaps facing off against Valve Software and Half-Life 2, which is also scheduled to ship to stores this summer?
Todd Hollenshead - Frankly, our primary concern is working on our own project and finishing the polish on it for a summer release, as we promised at E3. It would be cool to be able to look out into the future and see when both titles will appear on store shelves, but I don't know our own release date, much less theirs, so it's silly to speculate. It will certainly be something that's interesting to watch if they're out within close proximity to one another. But once you're done and the game is released, watching is pretty much the only thing you can do as a developer. Regardless, I'm confident that DOOM 3 will do exceptionally well no matter what titles are available around the launch of the game. It's going to be a great summer to be a fan of PC games.
Will Doom 3 be playable in PC and Xbox form at this August’s QuakeCon?
Todd Hollenshead - The PC game will be released this summer, but I don't know if the release will be before or after QuakeCon. I expect that we will work with Activision to have the Xbox version playable there, even if it's basically the same part of the game that was playable on the floor at E3.
as you can see, constant references to "summer" release...and this was takin from homelanfed.com as an interview w/ todd..spokesmen for id i believe....
