Its not noob, but to us it is. Okay, on 256mb cards, they use cheaper, not as fast ram as on the 128mb cards. Most games barely use 128mb of a graphics card. so if you have slower ram but more(like 256) and only about 100 of it is being used; it will run slower on a majority of games compared to a 128mb graphics card. The only exceptions are farcry sometimes in the outdoor environments and doom3 because of the texture memory it uses. Also the 9800 128mb has faster clock speeds than the 9600xt, so it is also a faster card all around. If you were using the 9600xt for the tv out- so you could watch tv, or editing movies or 3d models, the 9600xt would be the best bet. If you want higher overall speed, a better card for gaming. And about equal for 3d modeling, movie making, and much more- the 9800 pro is definitely what you need. The 9800 pro is much much faster, even tho it has less texture memory. It is true, so please get the 9800 pro. Also other people on the forums will follow up on my answer proving how it is true, cause i know i was kinda vague. All in all, 9800 pro 128mb is better, dont get the 9600xt, unless you use the useless special features...
