I remember when I was a younger kid, and I played Rollercoaster Tycoon for the first time. The game was unbelievable. I could ride rollercoasters that I normally didnt have the guts to in real life. With the upcoming 3rd edition, a demo was released to showcase part of what Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 had to offer. The demo includes a tutorial composed of three different parts: Camera, Ride Placement, and Custom ride building. All of these tutorials are redudant for those who have played Rollercoaster Tycoon before, but it is nice to go through the tutorial again to familiarize oneself with the new engine. The first thing I noticed while playing the tutorial was how amazing the graphics were for the game. Some might say they suck because of the low poly player models, or because of the slightly repetitive terrain textures. I think that is completely ridiculous because the amount of detail and style is enough to make me say "wow". The real time reflective water adds a really nice effect to the game, especially while riding coasters in first person view mode. Thats right folks, you can ride the rollercoasters (and even all the other rides the game has to offer) in first person perspective. Not only can you ride in the passenger seat of the ride, but you can change the camera angle and zoom, allowing for a very cinematic ride. I really dont feel like writing a long review, or talking about the game anymore because all I want to do right now is get my homework done so I can play it. All in all, I think this game is going to be a 9+ out of 10. Its really fantastic, and it brings you back to the days of being a giddy school boy at a themepark. Grade A fun.
