These "lies" had nothing to do with Valve, but rather with Vivendi Universal's PR/Marketing department. Valve is under a contract with them, and the contract basically states that they're VU's bitches.... Once again, for the people that pretend to be experts, while they really got no clue how the games business works - the PUBLISHER calls all the shots, not the DEVELOPER.
Valve = developer
Vivendi Universal = publisher
At least now you know who you need to send hatemails to.
