No point in getting snotty Grey...

The average American voter is far more informed than any of you Euros about our politics.

You all look at the US president from 1 dimension: foreign affairs. That was only a minor facet of the presidential campaign.. yes, I did say minor. There were far more complex issues at stake than you Euros are aware of.

If you don't agree with our choice, fine. But you have no real clue as to why he was re-elected, so please refrain from belittling our intelligence.
...

Bucky, how about the "small" issue of economics in which Bush didn't fare too well in the last four years (overall job loss in the country, support for outsourcing American jobs, tax cuts benifiting the rich and big corporations, American dollar going down the crapper comparing to almost any other currency -- not counting the Iraqi dinarii)? According to all the polls I've seen he has less than 50% of population supporting his decisions as to when it comes to these issues...

How about health care (I'll use Dems' propaganda: "soaring health care prices, over 5 million people have lost their medicare coverage under Bush administration")? Stem cell research ban? His anti-abortion views that he tries to force on others?

So no, sorry, we're not looking at it from the perspective of foreign affairs alone... As a matter of fact, most, if not all things I've mentioned above didn't play in Bush's favour at all during the campaign... What did he consistently beat Kerry in (acccording to polls, once again...)? Anti-terrorism and *gasp* war in Iraq....

So if in polls most Americans agree that economics and health care are not his strong suit, and yet he gets re-elected on the basis of his foreign affairs program (War on terror and war in Iraq).... Maybe this will you something about the intelligence of the average American after all? ;) :P

P.S. I'm too lazy to find and link these polls (USAToday/CNN/Gallup, etc...) but I'll gladly do that if you've never seen them
