The story makes sense, also I probably would of thought the same given the clues offered to us. Its a cool story, and there is no simulation. Basically Gordon's been withheld in time (Those ppl who don't believe in the time travel probably would probably suggest simulation). Anyways the game play is awesome and I finally get the story now. It reminds me of how the world is today, how the bigger country, entity, or power would take over the smaller ones.

However, thanks to the G-Man, looks like Gordon Freeman will be sleeping with Alyx who is probably more than 15 years younger than him in Half life 3 or maybe her daugher...
