Son in law gave me an HP CD-writer 9500 Series burner. (bold part came right off the front of it).

I have nothing from him other than the burner itself. I installed the hardware, and went to the HP site and found a software package for it. I set the burner as slave and my 60x CD-ROM as master on the same IDE channel.

I haven't been able to find any specific driver set to go with it, but my box says it is installed and is operating without any problems.

Windows will not assign a drive letter to it, so I cannot directly read media in the burner. But, when I ran the HP burner software, the drive lit up and spun, and I got a software message saying that the disc was successfully made. (just burned some pics as a test)

If I put that disc into my CD-ROM, it does not recognize it.

This is my first brush with CD-RW stuff, so I really have no idea what to do from here.

OS is Win2k Professional edition. Any help is greatly appreciated
