I must have it.... (http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2005/05/31/gigabyte_ramdisk/)

Well, it comes out in July/August. Price: 70€. That's nothing compared to the Solid RAM Discs for 3000 bucks...and they can't hold datas when turned off. It gets it's Power like the motherboard, thus, is always on. When there is a down time then the batterie keeps it up for 12 hours. This is the perfect OS partition. 4 Gig seems not to be much (the Solid got also only 4Gig) but they are linkable like a RAID making it theoreticly unlimited. supposently there will be a 8gig expansion for one card, meaning 2x8Gig and your Boot partition is set. If it's true then I gonna have my Computer Wets Dream come true. For all who don't know what a RAM Disc is....tuff luck...you'll probably will always play games on low setting and on a 8x6 screen and wait ages for your sys to boot. For those who are technic whores of the finest class like me: We gonna have some fast times comming gals :francesco:

And because I'm so excited I show you my new Keyboard: Das Keyboard (http://www.daskeyboard.com/)

Nice! Id have to wait till theres more storage capacity available tho. With 4 gig you'd have to install a few games at a time everytime you want to play them! I suppose I dont really play more than 2/3 games at a time anyway! :P

Would be the ultimate tho to have 2 40Gig RAM Disc in RAID (with a stand alone charger just in case! or even a bigger battery..) Then you wouldnt need a HDD at all, or even separate RAM! Damn expensive tho to buy 80 1Gig RAMs chips!

...and what's with that keyboard you 'technic whore'! :Oo:

Whats the point of that keyboard? You can get the same results by gluing your eyelids shut :D. And using your normal keyboard.

nice ram thingie, do you think this thing will have Dual Channel Enabled, when the motherboard doesn't support it? kinda curious what the price is. 70 dollars? mmh nice...

oh and the keyboard concept is used by the typing cursists here at my place. they stick colored cirklestickers on your keyboard, and it works.

The RAM Disc is not supposed to replace the HD. It's only an addition to it. The top model
suppose to hold 8Gig Ram on one card so you basicly got a boot partition with it where you
install windows on. get 2x8gig to be sure. That way Windows will be instantly on without the
loading time....that's just sweet. combined with a RAID 5 or RAID 0 and you'll have the fastest PC to date...
Dual Channel is not necassery for a RAm Disc. It uses already the AGP to the MAX so there is no reason to
make it faster since you won't be able to use the extra juice.

About the Keyboard: It feels totaly differetn then any other keyboard out there. for some
reason you just know what button to hit without even looking on it. It's pretty cool thing
and you can invite your friends over and show them some uber 1337 h4x0r typing action.
And no, it doesn't feel the same when using a regular keyboard tat got the prints covered. :D

and I don't understand what that other thing is about, I know RAM and I know a HDD but a RAM disc?

You are ugly! Yeah well, the keyboard won't win any beauty show prizes but
since it was intented for using without looking at it I think it doesn't really matter. :D

but, but...if you're friends come in and they say "hey you have 1337 ub3r skillzzzz in typîng, but you're keyboard is so ugly we don't ever wanna see you anymore"?

is it that hard to make another case for it??

But here is the thing: They are so drawen into your ub3r 1337 typing skilz that they have no time
to look at the keyboard. all they do is hearing the click click click of the keyboard and the enourmous
amount of letters and figures on the screen poping up. You might need to get a second Terra Gig CPU to only
calculate the sheer amount of type speed that you're pulling of on this one :D

isn't that where the RAM disc kicks in kami?

btw, it's a good protection against unwanted noob intruders on your pc too  they wouldn't know how to typ the password since the can't see what they're typing, not on the keyboard since there are no symbols and not on the screen since there are only those funny little asterixes they also use in slangwords like f*ck or s**t or m*therf*cker
