I found one at walmart that i like but i have the sims 2 and i don't think it would run on there i found another one on dell. But the one at walmart is cheaper than the one at dell.So which should I get??
walmart laptop:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...3026#long_descr (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=3163026#long_descr)
dell laptop:
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/p...s=19&l=en&s=dhs (http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_1200?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs)

I would get the dell, the wallmart one doesn't look that good, it even still has "Integrated Wi-Fi-compliant Wireless 802.11b (11 Mbps) LAN " while the standard these days is 802.11g like the one on dell has.
and I don't think it would play Sims 2, no
just trying to help ;)

I doubt both of them would run Sims 2 ... the dell one is a Celeron 1.3Ghz, the other one is an AMD 1.1Ghz judge yourself ...
Both of them have some unknown integrated video chip :bucky!:
If you want a laptop because you travel a lot or spend more time out doors for office needs and notebook purposes, then these one's will do. However if you are planning on playing new games on them ... forget about it, get a better laptop, with powerful CPU, more ram and some known Video chip like NVIDIA or ATI, of course that means more money. Therefore you rather buy a new PC if you don't travel a lot.

you can put together a pc on the dell site somewhere, if you do it wisely it'll cost you less than anywhere

i'm willing to pay anything under $600
You can get a decent PC for that price, but if you want a monitor it's going to cost more.
Check out this (http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/highendsystem/sp2.asp?v=d#configurator_top) link. A great computer for 589$
A notebook PC with decent DirectX9.0C capable graphics will cost you $1000... np! I just brought a notebook for my brother-in-law and it can play all the latest games including farcry at a reasonable fps and gfx detail, however it cost $2000, but its probably as good as most of your computers! Pity its not mine... :nxs:
You will need an 9600 mobile chipset minimum and they only ship on performance mobile chipsets I am afraid! Something which Walmart will not do, however... i am sure someone will... let me check for you!

wow that is only $589?? That seems like a good deal for a computer with that performance. How is it on internet? And it would work for the sims2 right?

Yes, it would run SIMS 2 smooth. Not sure what you mean with "on the internet".
Well, the internet varies on your service provider....But yeah it is a great deal. With 512MB ram and a 6200 256meg you will be fine on the sims 2! But do as GrimReaper said because he is one of te l33t hardware experts and I'm just a cow :P That is the company I ordered my computer from and it is great!
Also, keep in mind that doesn't include a monitor, so if you are using a laptop now surferchick, then you will need to purchase one,but you can find a good one for around 100$ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116157)

dell's having a special there is a dell dimension 2400 for $299 and it has the following:
Processor: Intel Celeron Processor(2.40GHz, 128KB L2 Cache, 400MHz FSB)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows xp home edition
Memory: 256MB Shared DDR SDRAM
Hard Drive: 40GB*Hard Drive
Graphics Card: Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics
Sound Card: Intergrated Audio
Optical Drive: 48x CD-ROM Drive
will that run the sims 2?? i checked the requirements but it said it needed 800 MHz and it only comes with 400 so i might be able to ask to upgrade that and if i did that would it work even then? or would it not be necessary? :bucky!:

It comes with 2400 MHZ (2.4GHZ = 2400 MHZ), but it will NOT run Sims 2 because of the integrated graphics card.

Do some research and build your own computer. You can build a decent rig for a small amount of money. The real fact you must know is that no computer is going to be dirt cheap if you want it for playing new games. Its a fact that if you want to play games on your computer, you'll have to dish out some money for it. It is definitely worth it in the long run, so continue to save and build your own or get a good deal.

 oh okay that's fine, I know the trouble of working on a family pc
I agree with fycus, it's true that if you want to play games you will have to spend some money, if you want a decent graf cards that will hold out for a while and a good processor with enough ram. so don't go for too cheap, maybe save some money for a while and get a better pc
