So who's getting the stutter problem in the retail version of bf2? i personally think it is the game and maybe some ram. I know i need ram for to put the texture quality on high because i noticed it was wasting a gb and more. Not a pretty sight with the stuttering. So i might just buy another 512mb of ram and wait for the patch for bf2.Til then if you guys have problems, i will provide you with a link that might help you, it helped me a little but still stutters.

If you have a GB, adding anymore wont help. Video memory could if you only have a 128mb card, but 10 bucks says it lies in the fault of the game just needing to be patched. EA games usually go through a 4-5 patch cycle. Terrible but true.

Yah, my demo game runs perfectly in 64 player MP servers.

I can host the standalone server + client + voip server on the same machine without problems, but if I join a ranked, it's a mess.

It has to be EA's side.

it can't be video memory because i seen my bro play with a gt and high settings and it doesnt work well either, i have 128mb of ddr ram on my 6800, but still it shouldnt stutter on medium textures. im guessing this is all cause of ea and the rest is on the ram. I am just gonna get another stick of 512 so i can get 1.5 and maybe i can turn up the textures to high, the demo ran flawless all i can say. but the retail game just sucked Interman and balls .

wait for a patch bro, I have a gig of ram and a9800pro and it doesn't stutter at all, adding more ram proly won't help you at this point, it's something with game and your hardware, wait for patch....remember half life 2 when it first cames out? stuttered like a mofo for everyone and like a week later the update fixed it completly ;)

and just for record, adding more system memory won't allow you to turn textures to high, you need more video memory, thats why it says 256mb video card recommended in readme file for game ;) one gig is perfect for system ram on this game.

not it isnt, have you seen how much ram the game takes up by putting textures on high? it left me only 9 mb . i seen it past 1gb, wasnt very nice....

No problems here, Im also running 2g of ram though. Now if the horrible UI was taken care of, why are all Battlefield menus so laggy? You refresh the servers and it takes forever . Get yourself some more ram, you can never have enough nowdays.

Fixed it myself with 77.50 drivers, still thinking of getting a stick though. i will see.

stutter problems will and shall be addressed in the next patch im sure. the BFHQ issue is now solved, and with it there are more and more Ranked servers popping up from everywhere. the ranked servers have much less lag when joining the appropiate ping, tho the stutter waves keep persisting. tweakguides are smart to use, make sure you follow them with interest.

Coooool thnx because these 77.50 drivers have lowered down my fps, crappy drivers i guess.

oh, forgot, the new 77.72 drivers of Forceware are okay, cuz it runs BF2 good enough (stutter still there), but it now gives a really weird video playing error in both WMP and Winamp

I noticed that when i had the 77.72 driver installed, looked pretty nasty.

it did this before reinstall as well but it lasted about 10mins. not one....i have all lastest display & sound drivers installed too.

yeah i have the same problem logger just keeps crashing to the desktop.i read in another forum that if you have an intel cpu with hyper threading to disable it.i tried it out and it does work better.i hardly get any crashes anymore just once in a rare while.i dont know if you have an intel cpu but if you do try it out.
