Hi I have an AMD processor, How can I tell if it`s a 32 bit or 64 bit? As there is a 64 bit update for a game I have but not sure it will work.
Thanks

But even if you have a 64-bit processor you will also need a 64-bit Operating System for it to work.

Windows Xp PRO x86-64 is the only OS I know of that supports 64-bit applications, if you have Windows XP PRO,
than I beieve you can download the Windows Xp PRO with 64-bit support for free, this doesnt work with XP Home.

No,
Now the x64 beta testing is over if you own a*legit*copy of win xp pro MS will upgrade you to the full retail x64 pro free of charge(for a limited amount of time)
MS want as many peeps as possible running their 64 bit os but know x64 driver support is still pretty grim, its just not good enough to justify users of a x32 os+x64 processor to go out and buy xp pro x64(yet)
Their offering this short term freebie in the hope many peeps as possible take it up i.e x32 pro users upgrade to x64(free)resulting in more users nagging hardware companys for better X64 driver support.
Thus resulting in x64 pro becoming more popular=more x64 processor users seeing fit to make the switch to xp pro x64=more $$$$$$$$ for MR Bill G :smartass:
