Ok so I've pretty much decided that when I visit the US, Im gonna buy a 6800GT and then OC it to Ultra speeds. (Any advice on cooling?)

Newegg tell me I cant use my UK VISA card to pay for anything cos they dont have a system set up for international orders. Anyone know of any other sites as good as them that do?

Failing that, how much is a 6800GT in retail stores in the US? And which stores are the best? Ill be in Boston hopefully, but probably visit DC and New York too while Im there.

One of these cards in the UK costs about £260 (~$360) so anything cheaper than this is a good thing!

Your help is much appreciated!!

PCI or AGP? and as far as cooling it, I highly recommend ARCTIC COOLING. (http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga1.php) I have 2 of these for my x800aiw and x850 and they keep the temperature much cooler than the stock fan and more importantly they're dead silent!

AGP (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321009&affiliate=shopping)

PCIE (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=322716&affiliate=shopping)

as for retail stores... I can't recommend one that is cheap. If there is one let me know!

Thanks for the tip jms! They look like decent prices. I might go for one of them if my trip to the states falls through.

Newegg were doing 6800GTs for bout £160 or less altogether, but retail stores'll be more expensive I guess. So if I cant get one for around that, I'll save myself the hassle and look on the link you gave! Plus I reckon I'll save a bit more if I wait a couple months, as the new cards are just coming out... :D

EDIT: Papajoe: Oh yea forgot to mention I need AGP! Yea Arctic Cooling are awesome, I'll check em out.

ZipZoomFly looks good. Another problem is that your billing address sometimes has to be your shipping address, and I wanna ship to the US to save me money on shipping obviously...so its looking more likely Ill be looking in the retail stores! But Ill let you know if I find a cheap deal! Thanks papajoe.

You could always go the international money order route, just sen it express mail. (that's what I had to do when the credit card company killed my betting accounts :P )

International money order route? What's this involve? :Oo:

(I just e-mailed ZZF about ordering using UK VISA and shipping to the US, should know soon I guess...there doesnt seem to be any info on international orders either in their FAQ, but it looks like they do it...)

What really makes me laugh is that some british companies think they can sell gfx cards to the US at UK prices, hahah!
MSI 6800GT for $389, you know you want it! :D (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=653644862&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=161290)

K, ZipZoomFly ended up saying they dont accept foreign VISA, but you can do a wire transfer once your in the US.

.....buut....I ended up getting too excited and my impatience prodded me into getting this! : EBuyer.com XFX 6800GT with free Doom! (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=73368) They're on sale!

Since I already own D3, i can sell that for a tenner, making it only bout 20-30 quid more expensive than if I'd waited until the US. Im also gonna sell my 9800 Pro for bout £45 (cud get more if I had the time to ebay it). So Im getting this 6800GT for ~£145 overall. Not bayyyad. OCing it to Ultra speeds means even more value for the bucks!

Thanks for all of your help! :D  Now to spend the hard earned savings on loadsa games! (course im not gonna save it!)
