Okk, im looking for a video card for my friend he wants to rebuild his machine.however he only has pci , and he cant upgrade his mobo right now, so whats a good pci card that would run like fear and what not... did the higher end ati's or nvidia cards make pci versions of good ones... he wants something that will compare to my 9800 pro or at least get around to it

yeah man sorry the most i think youll find in pci is like a 9200 at the most not to sure.better tell your friend to save up his money and buy a better MoBo.

well there was an ati card.... the 9550 pci 256meg card... ya think that would be any count? i mean hes using onboard right now, that card istn that expensive, do you think it would be a decent upgrade for right now? it does support 2.0 shaders....

pci is very slow for video cards.......if your gonna game it up anyway, I used to have an ATI 7000 64mb pci it was real sloppy then I took it back and got the same card but in AGP 4x and it made quite a difference...

I do have a pci 9100 128mb on me if you want to buy it off me..... was great to me, i know that it was better then a 5200 and it played good, it is based on the 8500 chip if you want to know....
