Hello everybody,
I bought GTA 3 yesterday but was really disappointed that, after successfully instlling the game, I wasn't able to complete even the first mission because the game starts jolting and jerking like mad. After one or two minutes of playing the game crashes down and I have to reboot the system. My systemis okay (1,2 Ghz, 640 MB RAM, Geforce 2gts). I heart that this is due a stupid copy protection and take two will send you a fixing patch after for weeks when you told them the problem.
Does anybody know if there is another possibility of getting this game running or where I can get this patch from? Thanx in advance

If your referring to the way that the game kind of skips then just turn off the music, it worked for me. Hope this helps you.....

Please post what os you're running, what patches you have installed etc etc. Also check the other gta 3 threads on the forum for urls to xp patches and such.

I bought the game also, but was unable to play it. The game wasn't able to find the CD. So what I did, was a no-cd program running over GTA3.exe, and now I can play the game without much problems.
But to come to _your_ problem; have you tried disabling music, or even press <esc> once in the game to synchronize the game with the pressed commands? <esc> will return you to the pause menu, push <esc> again to go back to the game.

Did you tried to turn off "trails" in the display options menu?
This option turned on means that every frame is rendered 5 times to give a motion blur effect... Some machines and videocards just can't render that and crash...
If you can load the game but it is jerking it may be this problem.

Can anyone help me with a patch of some sort for the PC version of GTA3?
The game runs fine on my 1GhZ G-force 2 machine, but
GTA3 crashes when I try to LOAD my saved games.

Does anyone know where to get a patch for this so I can load http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

THANKS!!!

I have a weird problem.
if i load gta3, after the ento it asks for disk 2.
disk 2 (copy) is in there, doesnt help.
Then I copied the audio files from disk 2
to the Gamesfolder\AUDIO
and tried numerous patches on the net... same issue.
Now for the weird thing:
if i rename sfx.RAW or sfx.SDT from the audio folder
to something else then i can play the game but without sound! and in the menu it says i have no hardware soundcard installed but i have a Fortissimo2.
My specs: duron 800 512RAM Geforce2 32 MX
runnin on Win XP (got the XP patch)
Can some1 help me?
thanx,
Flexo
