Well apparently WV has passed that %%^&*(%$#@#@$%* smoking ban and this includes bars! This is one of the biggest crocs of s*** laws I have ever seen! What gives the gov the right to tell anyone what is good for them? In my opinion Phillip Morris and R.J. Renolds should start an all smoking State! None of those stupid anti smoking ads, they pay farmers more for growing tobacco, every public place requires smoking, and bitchy non smokers are put in jail for not smoking in public places espcially *((())&% bars http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Maybe next they will ban fat ppl from buffets, or just ban alcohol altogether. Yeah I agree. At the very least it should be up to the owner of the bar to decide whether he/she allows people to smoke.

Not all the time though, so if this crazy law was brought into effect over here it wouldn&#39;t bother me at all.. would kinda ruin the atmosphere of the place though.

Well back here in the UK, they recently passed a law where by the cig company&#39;s cant advertise their product anywhere, no avertising aloud. so you forget they even exist, until you go to a soccer match and you get the smoke blown right into your face by a fat overwieght drunk with lung desease and aids --- oh did i say aids i meant hearing aids... cos they are old http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

Don&#39;t know how it works in France or USA, but in this part of Canada Canada in some of the bars we&#39;ve got smoking and non-smoking sections or floors, so you could choose where exactly you want to sit. And people smoking in non-smoking sections can and WILL be kicked out or fined or both. And all that actually IS enforced by some government of provincial by-law, so it&#39;s been working out really well for us. Of course it&#39;s not in all of the bars but only some of them, but I think it&#39;s the best solution that everybody could settle for.

In Norway a similar law is being introduced at the beginning of 2004. A TV station interviewed the owner of a restaurant who wanted to start early with the no smoking thing, just because he wanted to prove that he&#39;d lose customers etc. Well, a week passed and he actually got more customers...
