The lovely folks at Crucial have kindly let us give away three (3) sets of Ballistix PC2-8500 1066 DDR2 2 gb memory! As we have three sets to giveaway, I will give one set away a week. Each week there will be three questions that you will have to find the answer to and email the answers to ghcontest@gmail.com. The winners will randomly be chosen from those who sent the correct answers by me (hehehe) The first weeks questions will be easy and get harder as the weeks progress.

1. What does RAM stand for?
2. What does DDR stand for?
3. Aside from memory, what other products does Crucial carry?


Week 2 questions:

3: Who will win the console war? MS, Sony, or Nintendo. Why?

Week 3 Questions:
1: What is the difference between DDR and DDR2

2: What is SLi?

3: Was this years E3 good or bad? Why?

As far as I know, 6400 can run along 8500 fine as long as your mobo supports 8500 in the first place. However, the 8500 will be clocked down automatic to meet the 6400 standards so you won&#39;t be able to use the extra mhz. Still, you could always upgrade your older pair to match the Crucial.

Great to see these types of compo&#39;s here btw :thumbup:

There are alway times when things don&#39;t work as they should.

of one time when "Customs" wouldn&#39;t allow a winner to get

That&#39;s the exact reason I didn&#39;t see it until I went looking for a couple patches for an old game... I generally check the Playtime forum here on a monthly basis (at least) to see what&#39;s up in the contest side of the site, but no thread was ever made about the Harry Potter contest.

It might be a good idea to take down the Harry Potter/Wii contest page so people don&#39;t continue to enter. Some people don&#39;t bother reading dates before entering contests :lol:

Beeeecause you could easily look up "DDR" and "RAM" on any search engine or website (especially Wikipedia) to get the answers (which, are in fact, correct).

Aside from the wrist strap, t-shirt and hat, the rest of the stuff Crucial sells is actually a form of memory&#33; The question was actually OTHER THAN MEMORY what do they sell.

Memory = RAM. HDD/USB HDD /= Memory. The only way anything that acts as a hard drive can be considered a form of memory is Virtual Memory. And that isn&#39;t something you can buy obviously.

Wow, my RAM arrived tonight. I was kind of surprised to find an invoice sheet inside the bags they were shipped in by UPS from Crucial (it lists it as a "Promotional deal" or whatever), but very pleased with how fast they arrived.
