Comment on today's OOTM here.
2005 is too close, they will not be able to do it, and possibly would be one of the few things that can ruin sony wide market.
With current rate of piracy anyway storing games on server, therefore adding server side protection could be a reliable idea to cut piracy and finally lower game prices.
Still I guess the will never lower prices.. gba games are most remake and still cost an eye but they had not high development costs and gba games can't be pirated that easy. I wonder if the piracy nowaday is not just an excuse to keep price high.

downloading your games would never work in the mainstream market. At least not anytime soon.
Wiggles, still it is 2005, I think both europe, usa and any market that sony may feel of interest will be covered cable wise.
Anyway I think they will just make a standard thing that will be able to download online too (actually something xbox would be able to do out of the box).

Yeah, they may be able to do it, but I think it's just going to be an option. I don't think they'll be doing away with "real" media. It's still way too soon even if most households do have broadband. But hey, we'll see. They have 3 more years to work it out.

About the downloading of games - if I was forced to read my instruction manual through something like a .pdf file, I wouldn't be happy... more so if it was a deep game that you would frequently want to refer to the instructions while you're still a newb.
