try running dxdiag and look for anything weird (any strange error messages etc). it might be an os issue, but it might be a hardware issue, or something else..

thanks
yes i found a problem: DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
Display Tab 1: The file s3_8.drv is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a signed driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device.
DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)
Sound Tab 1: DirectSound test results: All tests were successful.
Music Tab: DirectMusic test results: All tests were successful.
Input Tab: No problems found.
Network Tab: The registry information for the DirectPlay application 'Risk' is missing or damaged. You should reinstall that application.
DirectPlay test results: All tests were successful

Well, sounds to me like your video card driver is either broken or doesn't actually support 3D, or your video card just doesn't support 3D.

Either way, try getting new drivers for your card. If that doesn't work, try a reinstall of DirectX.

hey ,i found the problem, but don't know the solution

on running directxdiag. i found it:on trying to test direct 3d:

it succeeded in testing hardware accelerated direct x 7-interfaces

but, using 8 interfaces ,it did not work

i rerun setup file for directx 8.1,but still same problem

do u know a solution
thanks anyway
