I love my keyboard too. It has a fainted white color, the brightest buttons are the W, A, S, and D, and who knows what lies beneath those buttons: rice, noodles, orange juice, and some orange-nish compound that look like ear-wax.
oh...It also has bandages on the far right-side because clip under the it that suppose to make it coincide is broken.

Get a new one before you catch something from all that organic garbage under the buttons :)

When I built my new puter, I bought me one of those fancy keyboards with all the softtouch and shortcut keys, etc.
Then I spilled some pop on it and about 1/4 of the keys quit working. I took it apart, cleaned it up and never could get it to work.
Finally threw the damn thing out and dug up my 6 yr old mechanical keyboard and do not have plans to replace it :)

unless you spill something on it too, huh? :)
No, seriously, they don't make keyboards like they used to... some months ago I was buying a new PC and couldn't find a kbd that I liked...
It's that simple:
GREY'S DEFINITION OF A DECEND KEYBOARD:
1. a big ENTER key easy to hit
2. a long BACSPACE key (I'm sick of writing \\\\ when I want to delete something)
3. a long LEFT SHIFT key (short SHIFT key makes you cross your fingers when you play DOOM - could be painfull after 4 hours of playing)
4. (this is not absolutely necessary but still desirable) no WIMDOWS key between the left CRTL and ALT keys (DOOM crashes when you press it accidentally)
IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK!?
I would have used my old kbd, but it is not PS2 and they didn't have a convertor, so I bought a new PS2 kbd that only fulfilled requirements 1 and 3 - SHITTY STUFF!
PS: Don't take me for some DOOM maniac
I have a foldable keyboard and it meets all your requirements except 4 :D

Plus it's pocket-sized too, maybe?
Well it is tecnically supposed to be for laptops. Its in a plastic coating so it cannot get wet and it is very quiet, not to mention you can roll it up when you need to :D
Greywolf
08-05-2003, 07:53 PM
Its being quiet would give me an edge at DOOM because we usually play it on comps that are very near each-other... where can I get one? ;) :francesco:
Will add it to my DOOM-palying equipment
I am pretty sure I got it at best buy for $10 :D

How 'bout mice?
The weirdest one I have seen has 9 or 10 buttons :Oo:
Wacky stuff :bucky!: The size of a brick too... you have to be Scwarzenegger to work with it :D
I still love the Razer Boomslang 2000! Now that is a bad ass mouse! Might get one next month too! :D
Greywolf
08-05-2003, 08:15 PM
Gees looks like a starfighter with a tail... :Oo:
True but it works better than any mouse I have ever used! And then there is of course that gyro mouse! That thing was a tad weird :D

I have spilled a bunch of stuff on this old mechanical keyboard. Doesn't bother it a bit.
The new pansy electronic ones lose contact and quit working.
Don't get me goin on that whole "They don't make 'em like they used to" routine :P

So do I... Here's the combo I use:
http://www.gamershell.com/imagefolio/gallery/From_Articles_and_Interviews/Logitech_Cordless_Elite_Duo/741.jpg
The shopping shortcut is located in the upper right corner, on top of "numlock / * -" buttons. What I love this keyboard for tho, is that it lets me control winamp :)

Here's the review (http://www.gamershell.com/reviews_LogitechCordlessEliteDuo.shtml?q=logitech) , it's a pretty kick ass combo once you get used to it.. Only problem is that you gotta replace the batteries in the mouse once a month or two, and it sucks going to the store and buying them (yes, I'm lazy :D )
Id buy it just for the fact that it controls winamp! :D

Can control any other player you have on your PC also (including windows media player), you just gotta choose from the list which program you want to control :)
Greywolf

I made an InfraRed remote control unit for my PC for that, but the software didn't like the signals from my TV remote :crybaby:
Gotta buy a new one but I'm not sure what kind so it's just standing there looking at me with its sad IR transistor eye :(
Another one of my projects failed because I lost interest in it :)
