As a general rule, I won't buy an album unless I can listen to it straight through, without skipping any tracks. Also, I won't download MP3s from an album unless I'm about to go out and buy it, just so I can hear some songs on the album.
When I do go and buy an album, the first thing I do is rip it to my hard drive using EAC, burn the WAV files to a new CD (with CD-Text for my car's CD player http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ), and then encode them into MP3s using LAME/RazorLAME. Their filenames appear as "TrackNumber - SongTitle.mp3" . I then file them into a directory structure like this:
D:\Music\Artistname\AlbumNumber - AlbumName\
So, for example, the song called "Numb" by Disturbed has the full path:
D:\Music\Disturbed\01 - The Sickness\07 - Numb.mp3
Anyway, enough with that crap, WHAT DO I LIKE??! I'm not about to start recommending songs, so I'll just post some of the artists who appear in my Winamp playlist, in no particular order:
36 Crazyfists, Aerosmith, Cake, Chris Cornell, Cold, D12, Deftones, Disturbed, DMX, Dr. Dre, Dream Theater, The Eels, Eminem, Fear Factory, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Korn, Megadeth, Metallica, Moonspell, Mindless Self Indulgence, No Doubt, Nonpoint, Nothingface, The Prodigy, Rammstein, Sevendust, Sinch, Slipknot, The Smashing Pumpkins, Soulfly (providers of my sig http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ), Sublime, System of a Down, Taproot, Tenacious D, Tool, Killswitch Engage, Five Pointe O, Spineshank, Ill Nino, Chimaira, Dry Kill Logic
So ... what do you all listen to? http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'm with you there, Nxs ... I'm not a fan of elvis either ...
See, the only reason I didn't include DJ Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, and others in my list above is because I was dog tired and just wanted to go to sleep http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Let's see, the last album I bought was Coldplay's latest, which wasn't too bad, yet not as good as the first one.
Before that I bought a great hi-fi test cd that mainly consists of jazz and classical music, which is great if you want to rate hi-fi systems.
My playlist usually consists of 2pac, Busta Rhymes, Dr Dre, Eels, Fatboy Slim, Gangstarr, Kings of Convenience, Madrugada, Mark Knoppfler, Muse, Pink Floyd, lots of R.E.M., Red hot chili peppers, Santana, Snoop Dogg and Weezer. Besides that I often listen to the radio, even though I hate most pop. When studying I might even put on some Mozard, since it has a great soothing effect. Also started listening to Span, which is a great norwegian rock group that sings in english. Think their single On My Way Down went overseas too.

not rap and not country....
As for the Elvis, I have one song of his in my playlist, a remake of "A Little Less Conversation"
Hmmm my playlist has.. Dave Matthews, July for Kings, Saliva(local band), 3 Doors Down (another local band i grew up watching in the small bars around town), Sum41, SR-71, Metallica, Linkin Park, Hoobastank, Default, Theory of a Deadman, Chevelle, the Calling, Korn, Stonesour, Seether, Sugarcult, Sugarbomb, Jimmy Eat World, Creed, Trust Company, POD, Papa Roach, Ingram Hill, Filter, Dishwalla, Matchbox 20, 6gig, Sammy Hagar ( Mas Tequila, reminds me of my 21st birthday in Tijuana), Bob Marley, led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Beetles, Coldplay, Fuel, Nickelback.... those are the ones in my playlist at the moment, will have to go through my CD collection later and look.
Hmmm I actually have a lot of those you mentioned. Went to see Filter and a few other bands a couple months back. Must be young like me http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

ok, techno and trance i have experienced when grinding it out in the clubs, but what is electric? Isnt most music electrical , I see alot of electrical wires hooked up to the equipment and i think the microphones and mixing tables all take electrical power to use http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

lol, i said electronic. music made from machines. much like techno but more raw.
I have a very hard time getting into techno and trance crap, although I do have a few trance/techno remixes of some Beethoven and Mozart! http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Trance and Techno only works for me out in clubs. Not music I would sit around the house and listen to. Electronic..... maybe I am too old for this "raw stuff"(seeing as how i am not that much younger than NXS with his wife and 5 kids..), though sushi with a healthy cup of saki is pretty good.
Grampa?http://www.gamershell.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif lol Out of curiousity here How old are you Dennis?
