Looks like 2003 will be an awesome year for movies. My personal fav for right now will be the Matrixes (the last two of the trilogy both come out this year. Here is a review/preview Matrix story (http://www.msnbc.com/news/850165.asp). With terminator 3 looking like it will be a huge disappointment to me, hopefully these will kick butt. I was pretty bummed about T3, especially since I saw it was named Rise of the Machines and got all excited. It would seem that instead of having it all set in the "future" with the machines battling the humans as shown in most of the cutscenes in the first two movies, we are now subjected to an implausable 3rd terminator having been sent back in time. This time the Terminator being female. Wooooo. sigh. I wanted the postapocolyptic Terminator, not just a rehash of 1&2 with the new twist being that it is a female Terminator. Somehow Arnie is still around, which makes me wonder what happened to the molten properties of molten metal, seeing as how he should have... well, melted? Enough rant about that though. The new "Arnie Grape" aka Leo DiCaprio movie actually looks decent, "Catch Me If You Can". "The Last Samaurai" sounds kinda interesting. "A Guy Thing" looks pretty funny as well, but of course I am a Jason Lee fan from all his works in Kevin Smith films. I love Jackie Chan so Shanghi Knights should be good. Then of course there is, what I think will be a "Spiderman-killer", "Daredevil". After watching the trailers I was in awe. Though I could never picture Ben Afflek as an action hero (but then i liked Damon in "Bourne Identity", so go figure) he looks to actually kick some butt in this movie. X-Men 2 also comes out in May with Mortal Kombat 3, later followed by the next Resident Evil, Pirates of thr Carribean, The Hulk, Freddy vs Jason, Charlie's Angels 2, Dumb and Dumberer, Tomb Raider 2. Of course to end the year, and the trilogy, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King will be out.
In other words, looks like a good year for movies, if at least half of these are good.

I have to admit that I haven't done any checking into the Matrix sequel(s), but I have no faith that they will be good. Â*Hollywood has an amazingly consistent track record for ruining sequels, since what they are really trying to do is milk the original successful concept for all it is worth rather than come up with **gasp!** another original concept.

Your point about Terminator is a perfect example. Why would they change the storyline, the original one worked great. And the sequel will make money, because the sheep will flock to the theater to see it.

As you can tell, I am pretty cynical about the movie industry.

I do, however, think the the last LOTR movie will be good, but that is an exception, because they made all 3 at the same time.

[edit] Looking over that link, there is one that about the Matrix movies that I am looking forward to, Agent Smith. That guy was awesome!
