:crybaby: Back to 4.12 for me cod multiplayer using cat 4.12=steady 91fps.
cod multiplayer using cat 5.1=wobbly 70fps
Any one notice any improvements?
Probably better tested with the likes of hl2 to see any gains in fps....if any?
[EDIT] SCRUB THE ABOVE,I just realized id forgot to install my mobo drivers in the aftermath of reformatting xp :bucky!:
Now using the new cat 5.1 and gained 9fps in cod multiplay:now a steady 100fps

Haha, thanks for mentioning it. I'll just throw it into the sticky.
This thread is good for discussing the drivers. Speaking of it, I'm installing it right now. :D
But for the info-part:
ATI has just posted the official 5.1 Catalyst drivers to their site.
This official release addresses several issues including:
* Men of Valor: Buffering issues are no longer noticed when playing the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ 8500 or 9100 series installed
* Myst URU Ages Beyond Myst: Attempting to turn 180 degrees and head towards the barb wire fence displayed within the game no longer results in the system failing to respond. This issue is known to occur under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ X800 XT Platinum Edition installed.
* Richard Burns Rally: Playing the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ 8500/9100/9200 series installed no longer results in the trees flickering
* Sid Meier's Pirates: Enabling Anti-aliasing no longer results in video flicker being noticed when starting the game

about the mobo, no. not mine anyway. maybe you have a better mobo; you should search your vendor site for drivers,

No infact i was using the latest omega's for a short while based on the cat 4.12 and getting 102fps on cod thats 11 fps more than i was getting with the original 4.12 cats and still a few more fps than the 5.1 im using now.
I originally changed back to the cat 4.12 becouse i could'nt see any difference to the eye, plus i like to stick with catalysts if im not seeing a noticable gain.
Now im using cat 5.1 they are more or less equal to the omega's at least with cod,it may be a different storey with other apps*not tryed any yet* :dennis:
