Hey..just wondering if anyone knows of benchmarks, or has used this card, and knows how well it performs on todays games.....it would be in a laptop (duh! XD) but just wondering how it performs with a 3.2 ghz P4, on perhaps.. Doom 3 or Half Life 2?

dunno the numbers but it runs fine with HL2. For DooM3...WHOOOOHAHAHAAAAARRRRRrrrr....actually if you lower the settings it would run fine too :D

well I'm looking into laptops and I wanted one better than my 2.43 ghz CPU + GeForce 4 Ti4400 128mb.. so.. the best I found at a reasonable price is the Mobility X600

Anyone?

Is this a good card for gaming, with a 3.2 ghz, 512 ram, on a lappy?

I'm just going to make an usumption here. But I've had my laptop for over 2 years as my primary computer with a mobile radeon 9000 64mb. kinda week but it still runs today's games decently. We all know that the x600 is a great card. and if it's being tossed into a laptop it'll loose a little power but there will still be plenty to be had. and with the 256 that's just going to make it last a long time. so by all means I'd go for it. I've been looking into a new computer or maybe laptop. not sure which yet but with those specs I bet you'll be happy. of course it won't be optomise for batterylife but when plugged in it'll run just under the performance of a desktop of the same specs. that's my opinion by the way.

I was wondering if i bought that one HP zd8000 laptop and picked the 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X600 card that came with it...would it be good to play games like Counter Strike: Source, and like Halo, and HL2? or would it be better if i got one of those hardcore expensive laptops from alienware and dell? because i'm trying to save $$$ B) and if i get a good laptop maybe i'll get that Star Wars 3 movie :starwars:

first of all don't get an hp. if I were you I'd get either a compaq or dell and then install my own operating system cuz they always add all that crap that slows down your system. Just look around for what you want and set a budget. only then can you really know what to get.

Compaq computers are a joke, my family has "Had" 3 of these joke computers and each time the piece of logger broke... and it was something major... like the mobo just fried or the Hard drive was no longer functional.. and all this other BS... and dells are made pretty crappy as well.. unless your willing to spend alot of money on a decent dell.. cause alot of my friends bought those TV add dells... (Lap tops as well) and they suck also.. HP on the otherhand isnt a bad brand, they make awesome printers i have like 4 of'em and i dont see why they wouldnt make a decent PC as well.. id go with a Pimped out HP if I were you. :P B)

Laptops are always crappy. I have an HP compaq nx9110, which was state of the art when I bought it in October. But I keep getting all kinds of errors and my graphics card is crap (Radeon 9000). But we have HP desktops as well and those always work fine.
Perhaps I shouldn't have thrown that coffee to my laptop. :Oo:

Compaq and HP are the same manufacturer :dennis: :dennis:

Notice all the references to HP products on Compaq's website? (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/)

Dude are you on drugs? if your mom is willing to pay for your pimped out PC, id so go with a Alienware... or maybe you should build your own Custom PC... and have someone put it together for you, unless you know how to build pc's yourself :D :P oh and bucky i wasnt aware that HP bought out Compaq... my family owned them when they were their own company... cause ever since the 2-3 compaqs we had broke... we've always used Sony PC's and mine and my moms are custom built..

I really don't see why you buy a laptop just for games. It is not worth the investment. Laptops are good for work and business but not meant for games. If you just want to play games, buy a desktop, it will be a lot cheaper.

3.2 GHZ
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 256MB
160 GB Hard Drive
2 Drives; cd-rw/dvd+rw/-
