I was wondering why they took the 800 and not the 850.
BTW: The real new card comes out end of summer - mid winter. supposently it has 32 pipelines and a sack full with weed so you can use those pipes right away :D

hehe yeh i herd about the 32 pipelines, that's what i'll be saving for and give that ago, mmm secret stash of weed aswell ey? perfect!. Maybe they were already working on this before they released the 850, apparently the 800 had a few bugs so they brought out the 850 and added abit of clockspeed aswell, who knows.

You should read some reviews though. I would advise buying one with 256 mb. Difference in performance is one or two percent, difference in cost is about 40 percent. ;)

the next card was ALWAYS only 2-5% stronger than the last. There was never a card that outbeats the last by a milestone.
:D

I rather wait half a year for the real new card.

Not really, take into consideration that you're paying $100 for the GPU and cooler, $50 for the packaging, cables and games... I think the RAM is actually quite cheap considering the low yeilds... Maybe $0.5 or something if you include the markup.
