thats cool man.. id write down all settings ive tried. its more easy to skip what might not work and target whats best..

with xfire. its a free program and can do almost the exact same thing as a payed fraps.. you will have a few less options.. but for recording its about exact same. and no 30 second cap either. and it will auto convert them and upload to its site..after that you can do what you want with the mp4 videos and very small file size and delete stuff off of xfire if you want.or leave them there too.. but after converted to mp4. you can put them on any other video host site you care too..

the videos say for a 4 minute movie can be 100,s if not a gig file size made into less than a 10mb mp4 file..and saves space on your hdd too. and mp4 playback quality is really pretty dang good.. xfire sets up and record option dang near exact same as fraps.. but with fraps you have to edit and convert videos your self after you make them..hunt and find programs that will do it and or use wmm etc..

for free xfire is hard to beat.. the program gui what even has built in in game chat.. you can use it to download patches for your games-[ i dont use either of them parts.] .but xfire you can also send files to your buds that have xfire.. files of any size..giga bites etc..i like that a lot. email what ever you can only send what a 20mb file.. its fast too.. limited by your net speed only.. record using xfire and set up to half size and 25fps just like fraps.. after you stop gaming a pop up will say you have such and such or so many videos do you want to convert and upload to xfire say yes..bamb wait..after done you have nice small mp4 files ..oh ya. you can use xfire for in game screens too.. good to go..

fraps gives ya some bench marking options and osd stuff.. but for recording.. the only other options i know of it having over xfire is you can set record fps up to 100fps.. and few if any systems on earth can record games much above 30fps.. your eyes for sure cant see anything over 30fps.. so again and for free..xfire is hard to beat.. camstdio2 is a great lil desk top recorder..but thats not optimized for recording games.. and if you are going to buy a program id buy the zdsoft as said before..

after you find the sweet spot and what your system can do..you will be a video making fool..have tons of videos and fun too.. i use my vids for training just like in sports locker or war rooms..and see stuff i might have missed in game and learn maps faster and on and on..1 video is worth a million screen shots.. and is waiting for you and others to enjoy..

take care man..if ya need more help just let me know..i think i have screens and a basic video how to set up xfire..i just have to hunt for them..but i will go far and above what others will to help ya..and will type 1000x what others will.i will type a book and add screens and video and audio too if needed..so.if others cant help ya in 1 sentence most will not bother..thats just the way most folks are..

note: fraps and xfire both are system hogs.. takes lots of resources with limited options.. and i hate to tell ya..if recording a old game like gta vc and only can get 12fps well something is wrong..your res is too high . your record fps is to high and or your game settings quality is too high. you have to make adjustments..or get zdsoft game recorder 2.0.1.0 and have way more recording and performance options.. so..

i made these bioshock vids using xfire.. bioshock is a system hog period..but a great fun and beautiful game..

i recorded them on a system a lot less powerful than yours..my abit kn8.. 4000+.. 2 gigs mem.. and bfg 7800 gtoc.. just to play the game on that system i set to general high settings and for dynamic lighting..but lowered textures and player model to medium..running my normal game and dtop res 1024x768 @75hrz.. in fact 4/5 of all of my videos was made with that kn8 system.. i only added my evga 8800 gtsko 512 a few months before i got this fatality system..the kn8 system is way way less than your system is.. id guess this fatality is less system than you are running now too..i just got my fatality going again and have not installed or tried xfire to record yet on it..but i plan too.. and record cod4. bioshock and gta vc. as long as they work with xfire..i think they do so..i know bioshock does..so my next vids with xfire should be better than what ive posted..

the original files before xfire converted and uploaded to its site..this vid was near 300 mbs.. made into less than 4mbs if i remember right.. this sig system was down for over a month..so i fired up my kn8.. i have to fire it up again and move files usb to my external drives.. i have some other stuff on it to upload and all of my new maps in ut3.. its more easy to move them to my extern drives and then just move the entire folder into ut3.. i will not have to hunt download unzip and place them all 1 by 1 again..and i have screens and vids to move too so..

these vids are not bad and made on an older system and lower game settings..your system should make much better videos..

fc2 [ farcry2 ] is a great game.. runs great for me and is beautiful..i have not played it since i got bioshock fo3 and codwaw. but was playing my 3rd game when i got bio and fo3. fc2 im at the end of act2.

um gamershell moderators

i dont mean no harm. im not trying to post links to games from other game site like gamershell [ff gs ign wiki etc] as in competition... its just im trying to provide general info about the games and home pages or other sites where folks can get patches maybe walk throughs etc..

i have a problem surfing gamershell as to searching by game title say farcry2 pc. and get general info or home page with review and patch or mod type info..gamers hell main page etc is confusing.i cant really find any game title info for any of the games im interested in.. i mean its not set up in anyway like other game sites and can be easy surfed for info on any 1 game.. i mean the main page etc. i click pc game home etc.takes me to some other page. but its no way a-z game titles i can find any 1 game read info- review- patches what ever.. man i dont know whats going on with surfing your site. i dont know how you can make it any more confusing and provide less info or make people just want to walk away from your site..thats just me..but if you dont know you dont know..

so im not trying to get my pages deleted because i have links going to other game sites for general info..that would suck..and im not sure how the rules go here for such things..if anything delete links you do not care for. or let me know i will delete them..but then folks will not have the general info i had hoped to provide to make playing the game and patching etc more easy for them. all the basic info is all together in 1 place etc..

i love my hl2 stuff.. hl source is ok too just old maybe..but i never got into css what ever it is and hl2 mp stuff for me was always odd ball. so. i will only post on sp parts of hl2.. others can post what they want..i have played and might post on some of the many mods. game add ons what ever you want to call them..some of them are really cool and fun to play..so.

i really liked this part of the game. im not really afraid to be up high..but up on old and rusty stuff does scare me.. its a trip when moving [swaying] or bouncing too..like when the train goes over..i use to install custom signs some was really tall and would sway with the wind or hanging off of 100ft out or more extension truck bomb crane ladders etc would sway too..

um i could start individual threads 1 each per game.. most any other site i post at.. game site or other. and has a game sections.each title has its own thread..i just started this as it is.. [ my favorite games etc.. ]

but i have so many videos and screens. i could literally post 10 screens and 4 or 5 videos a day for 2 years or more and you would never see the same video or screen 2x [video i might post links to multi sites.1 site might have better play back etc]. and i have more videos and screens to spare:and getting new games and or recording new movies and taking new screens everyday too..so jawdrop:

its just too.. im not try to beak any records for how many threads i can start. i really dont care..but if you think it better each game have its own thread and could move my last few posts where ive started posting just 1 game per game etc..im not sure what main forum area i should post such threads tho.. ya id like to offer general info on the games home sites and patches etc..but my main thing is to show off my videos..screens are just something you see right now.. and the better the screens the interesting etc. and can show somewhat what you see while playing. quality settings maybe..

i more or less hope others will post and chat about the games and post vids and screens too.. its no fun being alone.. i have noticed this thread is getting some views tho..thats cool i think.. i guess i could start single game threads in this area..again im show casing my vid and screens..what ever you folks that run the place thinks is best is fine by me..i have nothing but time and this is all i have to do so

now im a lil sad. i guess. i will not record bioshock and cod4 or gta vc after all. xfire has added aim chat support to its program.. im glad i do not have the program installed..

i will not use and avoid and worry about any and everything aol aohell aim and their music junk too.. aol stuff adds the greatest risk or picking up trojans or being hacked.. and choking your system with spy ware.. id rather toss my machine out into the yard than be involved with anything aol period.. when playing i turn off all of my security other than my firewall.. its no way in hell. i will install xfire again. i will delete it off of my other rig before it can update to new stuff with aim..

maybe my friend will send me that copy of fraps.. if not no biggy its not worth my money. i can live with out the few games zdsoft will not record..
