Hello everyone
While I'm a newbie here at GamersHell, I'm the Forum Moderator
at HardwareHell. Which means I'm part of the GamersHell Network
Family. If I can help any of you all you have to do is ask :-)

My special talent is AutoCad. I make my living as a Residential
Architect. I don't have the time to mess with 3D stuff but I'm as
good as it gets with 2D :-) I've designed a lot of Custom Fan grills
and such for people as an example.
Here's a few pic's of one of the Homes I've drawn recently :-)

Very nice and clean!! I would have to take you to task on the 2d comment, I've been using AutoCAD since R2.4. To date that for you that would be 1987 running on a Compaq 386/16 with a monsterous 1 meg of on board ram!

I got out of the USAF in 1984 so it must of been around
86 or 87 when I started teaching myself AutoCAD with a $50
book. At the time I had the good old AutoCad10. My last
Corporate America job was with a Builder who was bought
out By Richmond America Homes. I was originally hired as
the Architect's Assistant. In less than a year I had her job.
When the company was bought out I left and opened my
own office. I've got a High School Diploma and 9 months
of USAF Technical Training in Electronic's. I haven't been able
to take a vacation since the early 90's. And while I draw house
plans mostly, I can draw anything. Anything. Now actually
having the time for some things is a whole new question.
Post some pic's of your work and will see what you've got
going on. Maybe we'll both get lucky and learn something
new :-)
Slay

Edit: I assume you have the dwf viewer. If not I'll post a link
for the viewer and I'll post a link to a few of my plans so you
can get a closer inspection (tomorrow) :-)

Go here and download and install the AutoDesk DWF Viewer
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=2404513&siteID=123112
Then when you click on the supplied link
<span style='color:red'>Drawing 1 </span>
<span style='color:red'>Drawing 2 </span>
You'll be able to zoom in and pan about with no loss of Quality. It works
a lot like Adobe Acrobat Reader :-)

nice job, slay! im impressed.

on thing though; you probably thought this through, but why make the door go inward in bath2? its kind of cramped if i look at it that way, also making you unable to reach the sink left of the door without closing the door decently. i haven't looked at the dimensions though, so it might be peanuts. i would propose making it go outward, so you create a bit more room in the bathroom. its really an eastetic feeling for making a room a room, but still makes a big difference.

sorry to say that the house isn't quite my style though ;) , though the dimensions are

The Homeowners want the door swinging in so
that's what they got :-) But we'll get the doors
your way when I draw you up a house. Now go
get yourself a wife and 2.5 children so I can get
your business :-) HeHeHe

this is the first time someone actually impress me with their work...mostly because I used to love building houses and such in Mini CAD and ScetchUp. ScetchUp is the best 2/3D prg you can use as a beginner for building architectual models

Thanks KamisoriX. I'm happy I impressed you. If you like doing this sort of thing
you should keep on practicing. The pay is excellant :-)

Nice work Slay, man I've found another close to my age on the board. LOL

I love the clean/simplicity (not implying simple to do by any means) of residental plans. Commercial construction drawings can get so cluttered especially after adding all the revision clouds thru the course of a project.

The stone work pattern works well. Just wish you could get one with more randomness to it, but the pat file for it would end up being rather huge. If you don't have it look into a package called stonecad. Our LA's use it a lot for entry monument/wall designs elevation views.
