i've just joined, and the reason i've joined is this:

i'd like to tell you about a modpack that has been made for PC the game Pirates of the Carribean by akella and bethesda. i know it is risky to start about this, as i might be seen as a spammer, but it's worth a try. the game used to be buggy and sometimes boring. a lot of the potential was never used. many things have been added by this mod, which have improved it a LOT! :thumbup: things that have been added are:

9 new islands.

a new starting interface, where you can now choose your starting ship, character and location.

a hughe load of new ships, way to many to wright them all down here.

a lot of bugs have been fixed, but work is still ongoing, so don't expect it to be competely bug free.

lots of new quests.

a few new skills..\

added buildings and locations to existing cities.

about twice as many new weapons, including muskets!

weapons and cannons now use gunpowder, pistols now use ammo.

your crew will now use wheat and rum every day.

weapons now have certain degrees in quality and wear down and can break in battle, causing you to have to fight with your fists. you can stun enemies now and rob them.

new buildings added: tailor shop (where you can buy new outfits for you and your officers), blacksmith (where you can improve and repair equipped weapons), a brothel in quesbradas costillas, an opium den in redmond, and an apothecary in greenford.

some existing quests have been improved a little.

you can now go treasure hunting!

ships can now surrender in battle, allowing you to negoiate with the captain.

and a lot more things, but that should be the most of it.

the update is a little harder to find, you can download it at the forum on the site. a link to the update is in the signature of the member 'pieter boelen'. you will need build 13. build 14 is still in the alpha stage, and unles you ant to help testing, don't use it.

oh, i forgot: the site of pieter boelen has a problem with the downloads at the moment, so you can't get the update yet. i'll tell you when the site's fixed.

Hello and welcome. As for me i don't own the game nor did i knew about it. But since i didn't liked the movies i shall pass. I'm certain there are people who might find it interesting.

They have to leave you with a clue to the next movie.
They filmed it already so you'll get the final ending soon :-)

the 3rd movie is supposed to be release worldwide in march or so. I kinda liked the first one but the second one was just overloaded and I kinda grew tired of the chars. what I hated most was the cliffhanger at the end without silvester stalone

I agree totally.
Off topic, but I just rented the DVD Bandidas. It a Great Guy Movie in my eye's.
Penelope Cruz and Selma Hayek in a Western wearing a lot of sexy clothing.
And it's even got a good story. Action and Babes :-)

those screenshots don't show the new smoke. it hangs around far longer and forms into a big long plume of smoke now. it can make a battlefield VERY foggy at times.

but it sure is fun, and very realistic.

it's basically a sloop with an extra mast, and it's very fast.

this one shows the new smoke a bit, but it has already faded pretty much. for those who know the game, that ship in the most left part of the screenshot that isn't quite on the screenshot is a manowar! :thumbup:

note: the game has nothing to do with the movies, but things from the movies such as jack, norrington and the black pearl have been added into the game. i'll post a screenshot of the new black pearl soon.
