I've went through just about every known command in crysis, trying to achieve the best visual quality whilst still playable, on fast rigs of course. This config is only for people that wanna go above very high.

*** Things that will be altered in the game are as follows.

1. Increased lod distances on terrain, sprites & shadows.

2. Increased water reflections quality & tweaked annoying update
distances. "r_WaterUpdateDistance = -1"

3. Tweaked shadows & AO varibles for best lighting.

4. Improved HDR settings for more intense shadows & Lighting.

5. Solved many artifacts with lod & shadows with vanilla settings.

6. Jets will now cast shadows on 1st level when viewed a certain direction. Only
if "e_shadows_from_terrain_in_all_lods" is set to 0, disabled in update to
expensive.

7. Tweaked particles & physics.

8. The cmd "e_lod_ratio" is now locked to 6 after patches, I left at 10
if you every wanna play w/o patches.

9. The command "r_TexturesStreaming=0" needs to remain on bottom to have detailed
mounatins.

10. The command "sys_spec_full=4" will automatically change your graphic settings to
veryhigh. Once my cfg loads yor graphics menu will show custom settings. xp user will have
sys_spec_Full=3.

* Increased fps slightley by lowering shadow lod on terrain.

* Tweaked physics to improve performance.

* Increased view distance slightley and water reflections.

* Increased water reflections pixels update distance.

Extreme Quality v 1.02


* Removed uneeded cmds that were already being activated through cvar folder with "sys_spec_Full"

* Changed the cmd depthoffield=1 to 2 for a more natural look.

* Soften & blur shadows for a more realistic look.

* Increased Shadows cast view distance slightly.

* Change HDR brightoffset to default.

* Increased sprite distant ratio.

*Installation for vista
1.) Extract .rar file with winrar/winzip.

2.) Place the autoexec.cfg file into your; "Programs\Electronic
Arts/Crytek/Crysis/Game" folder.
3.) When inside game hit ~key if you see my art it loaded successfully.

*Installation for xp
1.) Extract .rar file with winrar/winzip.
2.) Replace the "CVarGroups" folder into your; \Program Files
\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Config folder" (backup the
original),fyi there is a copy of it on your crysis disc.
3.) Go inside game and set all graphics to high, and exit game.

*I think "sys_spec_Full=3" command will already do this for you,
I've not tested it on xp though.
4.) Place the "autoexec.cfg" file into your; "\Program Files\Electronic
Arts/Crytek/Crysis/Game" folder.

* If shadows are to jagged increase the cmd "r_shadowjittering=1" to 2+-, for a blurring effect.

* If you wanna play online using the config, must first change the cmd "e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy=4096" to a lower value like 2048, for punkbuster to accept.

*** If you have trouble running the cfg, try the following;

"e_shadows_cast_view_dist_ratio=" lower this to like 0.5

"e_shadows_max_texture_size=" lower this to 768

This config is aimed at rigs that can play veryhigh with no problem. Try the tweaks above if your getting poor performance, should get a increase of like 4-5 fps with above tweaks, and without losing any noticeable quality.

I saw crysis for 15.- so I will get that and try out this config!

Will it run okay on my pc?
Specs in my sig..
(But just for the summary Intel Q6600, 8800GTX, 4GB Ram, Vista Business X64)

Should run fine on your rig, I have a Q6700, 8800gtx sli, 2gb ram.

I get 35-40fps consistently.
