Im sorry dude, but that gfx card, JUST DONT CUT IT. Believe me, my friend has one and tries to run the game, and lags like HELL. Like 15fps maximum. You should try to upgrade to a 9600-9800. That should fit the bill.

I found a little thingy that helps, lower the draw distance by 1 step, just one from max and it doesn't have those "sudden momments" (unless you have a logger system
)

Well there are some things, actually 3 things I can think of: First thing is the card, I have a Radeon 9000 with 64 mb on my Laptop as well, and however running VC was no problem, since the system has 512mb Ram and SP 1. (p4 @2.6Ghz) Therefore what i can suggest you is, download the latest drivers for your card, and the latest DX9.0c (might be included with the game, if you don't have it yet) Second thing is, SP 2 , for example, GTA 3 had problems running with SP 1 when it was released, after a while there was a patch that fixed it. Nevertheless, I think SA will also have SP2 issues, expect a word from RockStar games if there is infect a problem with SP2 and if so they will fix it. (Although it says SP1 or higher (SP2) And last thing is the Ram you have, If you are using a laptop then it's strange having 478mb :Oo: Any way, the system req are here: click me

Normally you assign 8-16-32-or 64mb to your onboard grx in the bios. You obviously can't upgrade your gcard so try assigning 64mb or more to your onboard gfx. My humble opinion is its gonna play like tat with anything less than a 128mb card. Also my humble opinion-------->Onboard graphics--------> :pooh: |

Basically if your specs are not a good deal higher than the minimum specs on the box, you are going to have problems ;)
those minimum specs are to see the game run, that means the game will look like a pile of logger, but it will run.....just If you have no graphics card in your Lappy, then the game will not run. If you have a Logger sound chip or no chip, then game will not run If you have under 1Mb of Ram (quickish) then the game will struggle like hell, and realistically won't run If you have SP2, then the game has known issues already, so either wait for a patch, or get rid of SP2 ;) If you have old drivers or don't have DX9c then update them both ;) If you haven't done any house keeping for a long time then unistall the game do the HK and then reinstall I know that these new games should run on older hardware, but the fact is, they are now made for the latest 16 pipeline cards and quick as you like CPU's, and if your rig is looking like a dinosaur then chances are the game is really gunna struggle, if it plays at all ![]() |

Ok, I have a problem with Gta SA.
The problem is that the game just isn't running smooth. If there's a lot of action in screen, it starts to (what it looks like) slowing down the framerate...........fast. I have tried everything, from all the settings ingame to all the settings of my graphic card. anyway, here are my specs: Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz 512 MB RAM Geforce Ti 4200 (should work fine) 240 GB harddrive Standard PCI soundcard and all the other crap (good drivers etc.) If someone has an idea, please let me know........because I haven't got a clue. |
