I just don't understand. Yesterday I bought GTA:SA for my pc. I have been waiting for this game for more than a year, and it's unplayable. I need to lower the graphics a bit, but every time I hit the advanced option the game crashes....every single time. I tried going into the game files, but I can't find anything that looks like configuration files. And here is the best part........now my DVD drive wont open!!!
If anyone has GTA:SA, I need your help, I need a settings file for a lower end machine, if anyone could help me I would be so happy.

ALSO i tried to edit the config b/c the gta games seems to well lack the ability to include real graphic options :/ i looked for a config iwth my 5200 and i couldnt find anything , sorry bro, thats when igave up and got a 9800 ...really i needed a new card anyawy, mine runs rather decent at 1024x768 with graphics on high and draw distance all the way. there are some performance issues however i think that and sound issues

hey, bro i got it, i was at eb at 10 am for that one, hm.... im not having any of those problems however there is a slight performance issue, the shaders er welll just plan shadows are bad the bike shadows are cool but thats it, i had a 5200 128 meg card and it chugged regardless but it ran ok at spots , so i got a 9800 pro 128 meg, and it runs pretty smooth it has spots where it has slow downs but its not that often, im running amd athlon xp 1800+, 512 meg ram, 9800 pro, 160 hd 7200 rpms

yea, i hope they at least do a small patch fast to get the people who cant play to be able to, cause i dont own any consoles im glad i can play it. it has issues though with 5.1+ surround sound..... I didnt know how much i like it but once you get it at a decent fram rate and get into it, its actually rather good its worth the 50 dollars ;P

Your settings don't look good, i havn't got the game so i don't know what it looks like or what the settings are like but apparently accoriding to the specs you gave you don't have a graphics card.. or intergrated graphics..

also and reading your system information i didnt see an external video card, ..... you must have and intergrated graphics controller, and if you do then thats your problem.
