I know GTA is soo old lol but i recently found it and wanted to play it and i install it and everything but when i put in the play CD it goes to the R symbol thing and it acts like it's going to start but never does.. Does anyone know what's wrong with it?? please let me know if you can email me on lilusurf86@aol.com or even IM on aim at lilusurf86 thanks!!

Didnt we establish you had the Intel Integrated jobby in your Sims2 thread? Or did you upgrade since then??
I had trouble with GTA3 too on a 9800 Pro. I think the game is just old and hasnt been updated to run with newer drivers...sucks I know! On the other hand GTA:San Andreas kicks ass! :P (altho it still has a few crash to desktop issues atm...) |

Its not that your computer isnt good enough for GTA3, its just GTA3 is too old to run with new drivers (dx9.0c etc). Rockstar would need to release a patch to update the game for it to work again.
I suppose you could try this patch:GTA3 v1.1 Update Thats if you havent already. It does mention a fix for an exception error after the rockstar logo... :thumbup: (Click on the 'download' tab, and choose the second link on that page...) |
