Help! I need to reformat due to virus attack. Need to know where to find the game save files for Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2 and Lord of the Rings the Return of the King. Thank you in advance for any help that I may get.

find the directory of each game in "c:/program files" and there should be a "save game" folder within each of those, or "my documents" should contain an "EAgames" folder as well with save files.

Unfortunately, no. Newer games either save their Data in your "My Data" Folder or in the following path: "C:\Documents and Settings\%User%\Application Data".
Check them Both for Folders like "My Games" or "NFS" or just the game name. You'll find it eventually.
Note: I'm pretty sure this is the case for Need For Speed, not sure about Lord of the Rings though.

If you have Need for speed 2 on c Drive:
My Computer,
Documents and Settings,
username,
Local Settings,
Application Data,
NFS Underground 2,
SAVE.
[ED] Forgot to mention Local Settings folder is hidden by default , so make sure you have the Show hidden files and folders option enabled to do this click on:
My computer,
Tools(task bar)
Folder options,
View,
Show hidden files and folders,
APPLY.
Im not sure about NFS 1 but it it will prob be the same,as for Lord of the Rings the Return of the King, sorry never owned nor played it

newer games don't save there? new like...how bout "half life 2" save game folder= c:/program files/valve/steam apps./hl2/save
or how bout "far cry" save game folder for far cry= c:/program files/ubisoft/profiles/save game
doom3=same deal.......
wth you talking about man, don't confuse the poor lad with your rubbish posts......
although we are talking about NFS and LOTR in this case, so you would find the save game file in "my documents" EA games loves putting them there......but whats with you and "my data"? just look in "my documents and you'll see the "EAgames" folder, within that is the save files for each game made by EA.

No, you will not actually, do as 3izzarre and Akherousin said.
I'll give you my example for that > C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Local Settings\Application Data\NFS Underground 2
Where's ***** is your user name for in Windows

Cut your blah blah, seriously.
My Windows is in german language so I translated on the fly. Who the christ can't
see that "My Data" is appropriate to "My Documents"? :bucky!:
Also, know what you're talking about. For example Prince of Persia puts the savegames
in the exakt same place I and Mr. Strawberry said.

Found them all. NFSU2 was where Akherousin said it would be. NFSU was in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data and LOTR Return of the King was in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\My Documents. Thanks for all the help guys.
