Patch 1.3 German doesn't work

I tried to install the 1.3 patch of the game Dungeon Lords I have the german version 1.2E where no maps are working.
I downloaded the 1.3 zip file. which has included a folder maps , which is obviously empty. There is a text added telling me to install the dlords.exe instead of the old one and all files in the directories needed ? There are no other files only a link back to the homepage and the dlord.exe file in the zip. When i change the original version of dlordsexe into the new one. the program crashes during initialisation ?? Please help
