I have the same problem, and so does LS, and we all have the same card and drivers. I found a solution for it though (temporary)

Open up Windows Media Player.
Go to Tools, then select Options.
Go to the Performance tab.
Look at the bottom and you will see a video acceleration slider.
Slide this down to half.
Apply your changes.
If it is still bright, slide the slider all the way down to none.

Good luck

It seems to be with the new 77.72 drivers. No matter which video player I used, same color washed results. The only thing that is unaffected is Quicktime movies. As soon as I went back to 71.89 drivers, no issues.

But since it only happens with avi, wmv, divx type files it is something I can deal with specially since the 77.72 drivers gives me 10% increase in performance over 71.89
