How do i run Battlefield 1942 faster ?

Hey friends,

I'm playing this game on a regular basis and looking at some posts on this, i reckon it's kinda popular here too

We were playing this game last week (LAN, 6 persons) and it was so slow that we all just went back to plain old SOF2, which was good, but you know what I mean.

I know (or always thought) this game requires monster spex to run but i think it's not hardware related (P4 - 1800mhz - 512ddr - GF3ti200)

Now here's the big Q : How do I tweak performance ?
I would luv to play this game more often, but if it's this slow, i'll just wait for Vietcong

Let me know what you think and do to tweak this great game !

Not much to go on there, a 1st thing dont play on the server machine. try eliminating one mach. at a time see if one is lagging you down. Maybe a start?

These are a few of the things I have done to make BF 1942 run a bit faster...Obviously turn down the graphics options..lower the resolution..run the server from the fastest machine(no real need to use a machine for the server unless you go online)..erase the movie folder.

I have not had any problems wth slowness on the game when I have played on a lan. Might wanna try checking your connections too!
