BF2 patch wont work

Yo. im tryin to update my bf from 1.01 to 1.1 (with the 1.02 patch, wich is strange ^^, but im not sure with the version numbers. i updated it when i buyed it, and now im tryin with the newest:P), but everytime im tryin to run the patch, im gettin a "patching failed" msg right after he tried to patch (when i pressed the install button).
any ideas ´? cuz bf2 roxx, and i wanne play

edit: i tried with english and german patch, cuz im from austria, but im playin in english (german suxx a$$ ^^)

edit2: :P maybe someone can tell me why i cant play with 1280x1024 with my gf6800 ultra..cuz thatld be my native solution, but i only can choose 11somethingcrappy x somethingcrappy ^^

For it not being able to patch i dono about that but:

Add this: +szx 1280 +szy 1024 to the end of the shortcut for BF2 to play wit 1280x1024

tried to reinstall bf2, but still no way in hell to patch T.T T.T T.T

turn off your fire wall and it should patch ok...had to do mine that way.
