Hello all,

I just grabbed the Demo from Gamershell.com, and I just tried to install it, so I double-click the .exe, and the mouse turns into a sand-clock as usual when something is loading, but nothing happens. The setup does not start, nothing, it just sits there. I noticed that when I doubleclick the demo I see two processes called "fear_sp_demo.exe" in the processes-window, both called the same, one using 1.902K, the other using 1.880K, but they disappear after a few seconds as if nothing happened.

I rebooted, to see if it was a mistake on my side, but still the same. I installed the Dungeon Siege 2 demo this morning without problems, and other programs can be installed, not just this one. There is nothing in the task-manager either about any new process or anything indicating what it could be.

Does anyone know anything about a similar problem or how such a thing can be fixed? I really do not know what the problem could be, the firewall is not saying anything, the anti-virus software is not doing anything, and there is nothing in WinXP's event viewer that might indicate a problem. Please, anyone help me

sometimes the download tends to complete 'too early'. its hard to find it out yourself since it looks like its the full download. it just finished too soon. pretty annoying, but i dunno if its the case now.

Sorry about that guys. The first file they sent us was the wrong one. The correct one is up now and you should have no more problems.

Why do I think it's not the devs?

This aint the first time you screwed up. I'm (like most others) on a cap per month, and I dont need pros (apparently) like you screwing it up for the rest of us, especially with 500mb+ files.

Get it sorted. And yes I have a right to complain, so listen and suck it up.

Okay, does that mean now that we have to re-download that demo again, and waiting in the queue for that again? And is http://www.gamershell.com/download_10167.shtml this now the fixed one?

Sorry Hydroxide, you have NO right to complain. Our service is free and for you to use it is a privilege, not a right. If you don't want us to screw up then you can either send us money or shut up.

logger happens, deal with it.

Alright, well since you want to make sure that errors dont happen again (because it is obviously not human, right?) you can go and pay to download them from those fancy subscription websites, because since we're pros, they must obviously be specialists right? You are downloading from a service provided to you free of charge from people like you, you have no right to complain about anything so listen and suck it up.. We aren't a company or entitity. You'd be surprised at the size of our stuff. We aren't a bunch of pencil pushers like IGN or GameSpot with a staff of 100 people and more. If you aren't happy about something that is free, find somewhere else to download from.

And by the way, the file is fixed now.
