Halo demo wont run...help!

When i install the halo demo and then try and play it is stops running and says "Fatal error. hardware acceleration maybe disabled" I checked Dxdiag out and it doesnt show any problems. I have a radeon X700 pro video card and up to date directX. Can someone pls help!?!?!

Figured it out...halo website had a fix for it...had to do with XP and and bugged string in the code
